Green thumbs… with a baby!
Life with Wolfie is beautiful — but it doesn’t stop! And one of the spring weekend rituals is always about the plants. That’s how it worked out last weekend: we combined balcony naps with a bit of gardening, which with this amount of plants would normally be a four- to five-hour job. But repotting, fertilizing, swapping flowerpots and, above all, a mother’s hands up to the wrists in potting soil are not compatible with a baby who sometimes wakes up. So, taking into account the cuddling breaks, nursing breaks, nappy-change breaks (and the other family members’ needs directed at me), this fun stretched from Friday through Sunday! To be fair, I wasn’t rushing the work either — the weather was gorgeous, and with everyone else in the family being sick except Wolfie and me, I didn’t expect myself to keep a faster pace while boiling tea, shopping, going to the pharmacy, cooking, doing laundry, etc. In the end our slow but enjoyable green-thumb days came to an end, and a bunch of happily thriving little plants will remind me of them until next spring!
It’s nostalgic to bring back memories of my big gardening weekend last year, which took place in beautiful Vác, and a very old green-thumb day from Balassagyarmat, when I lived one of the most beautiful periods of my life with little Ruben ♥
