Bratislava! (+video and a million photos…)

Last week we had a four-day weekend, and Rú’s heart pulled her back home to Hungary. And what is a family supposed to do without their teenager…? We go and do things that Rú wouldn’t enjoy that much anyway, so we don’t have to drag her along, and we get an extra program out of it too. Since we had been planning a trip to Bratislava for a long time, this was the perfect opportunity: it was cloudy in Vienna anyway, while Bratislava was pouring sunshine on us at full force!

I had never been there before, so while sightseeing I wanted to grab a coffee somewhere that wasn’t a touristy spot. And if a city has water, I definitely don’t want to miss that either, so we ended up by the Danube, lying in the grass for a bit—which, to be honest, was the best part of the day..!

Welcome to our little virtual corner! I’m a single mother raising my wonderful son, Ruben, who has grown into a remarkable teenager. For years, I was the sole breadwinner as a Krav Maga instructor, balancing the challenges of parenthood and work on my own. As the pandemic subsided, I transitioned into private healthcare, where I currently work as a practice manager. Meanwhile, our family moved from a small town to Vác, a charming historic Danube riverside city near Budapest. Later, I took on a new role at the Department of Health within the Ministry of Interior, continuing my journey in the healthcare field from a different perspective. Life has also grown in beautiful new ways: a wonderful partner has brought fresh energy and warmth into what was once just me and Rú—now we’re a family of three. Here, we embrace the everyday moments and joys of life together.
