A closing-bracket Wednesday, just like in the good old days…!
It feels like a thousand and one years ago since we last had a truly “parenthetical” day with my golden-haired one—just the two of us, doing whatever we pleased all day long. How I would give anything for those days before kindergarten (not that we don’t love kindergarten now), when we went on playground adventures, visited fairs, learned nursery rhymes, and sometimes even indulged in ice cream for a mid-morning snack.
Though no summer after that will ever bring those exact moments back, we still embraced last week’s trip to Vác with a mix of familiar and new feelings. We splashed in the fountain, conquered playgrounds, and hunted for ladybugs along the old Danube!

For years, I was the sole breadwinner as a Krav Maga instructor, balancing the challenges of parenthood and work on my own. When Ruben started kindergarten, I embarked on a new journey by studying healthcare management at Semmelweis University, specializing in health tourism management. After graduating, I began working in my field and experienced firsthand the tragic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic while serving as a healthcare manager in a state hospital. As the pandemic subsided, I transitioned into private healthcare, where I currently work as a practice manager. Meanwhile, our family moved from a small town to Vác, a charming historic Danube riverside city near Budapest. Here, we embrace the everyday moments and joys of life together.
