Thursday hangout
There couldn’t have been a better way to end a successful workday than with a cozy picnic by the Nyírjes! After leaving the office, I tossed a pack of peanut puffs and a bottle of tea into my bag, picked up the little one from kindergarten, and we didn’t stop until we reached the lake. It reminded me a bit of the old days (ever since he turned five, almost everything reminds me of the old days), when he used to toddle holding my hand and wanted to go everywhere at once.
Yesterday, on the other hand, we talked about kindergarten things, the differences between boys and girls, and what to cook for dinner. He’s slowly growing up beside me, and sometimes I don’t quite know what to do with that—I desperately want to turn back time for a little more baby cuddling… Then again, I also look forward to seeing what kind of person he’ll become when he’s able to share his own thoughts with me. That’s motherhood.

For years, I was the sole breadwinner as a Krav Maga instructor, balancing the challenges of parenthood and work on my own. When Ruben started kindergarten, I embarked on a new journey by studying healthcare management at Semmelweis University, specializing in health tourism management. After graduating, I began working in my field and experienced firsthand the tragic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic while serving as a healthcare manager in a state hospital. As the pandemic subsided, I transitioned into private healthcare, where I currently work as a practice manager. Meanwhile, our family moved from a small town to Vác, a charming historic Danube riverside city near Budapest. Here, we embrace the everyday moments and joys of life together.
